10 - Il Conventino

Il Conventino is the lovely restaurant of a very nice hotel, Villa Tolomei, located in Marignolle, on the hills of Florence.  The place is super relaxing. It can be reached in 10-15 minutes by car from the city center. As you soon as you arrive, you will feel you are in the countryside and the city will be just a distant memory. It offers a very intimate dinner setting, the reflections of the swimming pool and the views of Florence are a perfect backdrop for great photos

9 - La Menagere

La Menagere is kind of a unique thing in Florence. It’s a bar, restaurant, concept store and also a flowers shop! Very centrally located (San Lorenzo area), La Menagere is a great choice if you want something different from the usual Italian restaurant

8 - Bucalapi

This is a timeless classic. It’s right in the city center and one of the few places where you can eat the authentic and delicious Florentine steak. Buca literally means hole, so don’t expect spectacular views as this is a basement restaurant. The ambience is very nice and warm. The ceilings, made of ancient red bricks and covered with old posters and photos, will make a great backdrop for your insta pics!

7 - View on Art

View on Art is a new place in the city center. It’s a 6th floor rooftop and the views on the city are really perfect if you want to make all your friends jealous! It’s a restaurant and bar and in case you feel like posting Instagram videos with great music they often have happy hours with DJ set

6 - Chalet Fontana

Thanks to its lovely garden, Chalet Fontana is another perfect restaurant for a spring time lunch or a summer dinner. Since it’s located on the Viale dei Colli avenue, it will allow you to escape from the heat and the crowds of the city center. Tip: to get there we suggest walking from Costa de’ Magnoli (very near the Old Bridge) and continue along via San Leonardo. The walk will be about 20-30 minutes uphill, but is totally worth it and will offer even more great photo ops!

5 - B-Roof

Located on the 4th floor of Grand Hotel Baglioni, B-roof offers some of the best views on the city center that you can find. The dome of Brunelleschi is close that you can almost touch it. With a tradition dating back the mid 1900s, it has been recently renovated both in terms of ambience and cuisine. Being very near Santa Maria Novella train station is very easy to find.

4 - Trattoria da Omero

Omero is another historical establishment in Florence. It’s on the hills, not far from the center but you will need a taxi to get there unless you want to enjoy a nice long walk (consider about 30 minutes walk from Piazzale Michelangelo). At the entrance you will be welcomed by tens of big prosciutti hanging from the ceiling. The views on the hills of Florence are really lovely. They also have a nice garden for al fresco dinners during the hot summer nights.

3 – Se.Sto On Arno at the Westin Excelsior

Se.Sto On Arno is the rooftop restaurant  of the Westin Excelsior Hotel. Being glass-enclosed, it offers amazing 360 degree views on the city. Stylish and elegant it is also a great place for an aperitivo. It is centrally located in Piazza Ognissanti, right on the river.

2 – Borgo San Jacopo

Although the Arno river cuts the city right in the center, there are not many restaurants that are so close to the water like this one. Sitting at the table you will enjoy amazing views of the river and of the major landmarks of Florence. Very conveniently located a few steps from the Old Bridge, it boasts one Michelin star.

1 - La Scaletta

Our personal favorite of all insta-friendly restaurants of Florence is La Scaletta, part of the hotel bearing the same name. You will find it in the Oltrarno neighborhood. A tiny elevator will take you to the level of the restaurant where they have the terrace with most of the tables, but definitely try to book a table in the second top terrace since you will have more magnificent views on the city.

Osteria delle Tre Panche

Situated at the rooftop of the Hotel Hermitage sits this beautiful, cozy restaurant. With balcony views of the Ponte Vecchio and on the other side of the patio is the Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio so, the choice is yours to which view you prefer to gaze out from. Lush greenery and vibrant flowers cover the entire baclony and veranda in an enclosed space making it feel like you've stepped into a garden paradise. Wonderful food, delicious wine and positive service staff complete this entire experience making it a new favourite of ours at KissFromItaly. 
 

Grand Hotel Minerva Rooftop

The rooftop of the Grand Hotel Minerva is not in our official list since it is not really a restaurant. It’s mainly a bar, though they also have a limited choice of foods. But it would be unjust not to mention it: the views on Florence with the swimming pool are so stunning that you will really want to take some photos there (just be aware that probably all your friends will hate you after you post these photos). Located in Piazza Santa Maria Novella, walking distance from the train station.
