This private tour of the Vatican begins at the Vatican Museums where entry will be quick thanks to the skip the line tickets.
The Vatican is the smallest state in the world but has one of the greatest museums of the planet. An art historian from the KissFromItaly team will guide you in the discovery of the treasures of the Vatican and help you appreciate all the art and history of this astonishing place.
The itinerary goes through the Pio Clementino Museum with its rich collection of Greek-Roman art (including the famous statue of Laocoon), the Gallery of Maps, the Raphael rooms (part of the private apartments of Pope Julius II). Going through the vast Papal palace you will then reach the Sistine Chapel, frescoed by Michealangelo, Raphael, Ghirlandaio, Perugino and generally acknowledged as the greatest masterpiece of Western art.
A direct passage will easily take you inside St. Peter's Basilica, the biggest and most important church for the Catholics of all over the world. This vast and awe-inspiring cathedral is rich in decoration, history and magnificent art. Among its many treasures is the moving Pietà by Michelangelo. The tour of the Vatican will end at Saint Peter's Square with the colonnade designed by Bernini.
