Then your private driver will take you to Orvieto in the beautiful region of Umbria. This picturesque town of Etruscan origin sits atop another hill overlooking the surrounding countryside. While meandering through the charming historical center with its Medieval and Renaissance palaces you will come across one of the main attractions: Orvieto's Cathedral, founded in 1290, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture. You will then have the opportunity to visit the underground of Orvieto: an amazing labyrinth of grottoes and cellars dating back more than two thousand years. 

After visiting the town you can choose to stop for a visit to a local winery in the beautiful countryside of Umbria just outside of Orvieto. You will visit the estate, learn about the production process and the varieties of local grapes, and indulge in a wine tasting. At the end of this excursion, your driver will take you back to the port in Civitavecchia on time to board your cruise ship.
