Rome Shore Excursion from port

In the morning a private driver will be waiting for you at the docks of Civitavecchia's port. With a luxury air conditioned sedan or minivan in about one hour you will reach the center of Rome and meet your private guide to begin a wonderful day in the Eternal City.

The itinerary includes the most important attractions of the Italian Capital starting from the Colosseum, the greatest amphitheater ever built by the ancient Romans. The entry will be quick and easy as we make in advance the reservations to skip the line. Next your private guide will take you to the Capitoline Hill to see the Renaissance square designed by Michelangelo and from the terrace you will have a beautiful view (with great photo opportunities) of the Roman Forum.

Then it will be time to enjoy some splendid artworks of Baroque Rome: Trevi fountain, where as the tradition says you may toss the coin that will ensure a come back to Rome, and Spanish Steps. There will be time for a lunch break in a typical restaurant before going to the Pantheon, an impressive Roman temple dating back to the 2nd Century AD.  With a quick drive through the magnificent center of Rome will we cross the Tiber river and reach the Vatican to which is dedicated the final part of this private tour.

As we always make reservations in advance, you will enter the Vatican Museums through skip the line access. Your guide will focus on the highlights of this vast collection of art before reaching the Sistine Chapel, frescoed by Michelangelo, Perugino, Ghirlandaio, Botticelli and considered by many the most famous and important masterpiece of Western Art. From there we will visit the inside of Saint Peter's Basilica and finally exit on Saint Peter's Square where the driver will be waiting to take you back to the port on time to board the ship.

Since this is a private tour, it is possible to choose the starting and finishing time based on the schedule of the cruise. The driver will remain at your disposal throughout the day and will drive you around when the places to see are not within walking distance. The total duration will be about 9 hours of which about 2-3 hours of total driving time (from the port and back) and about 6-7 hours in Rome. The itinerary can be customized to meet your needs.

Please note that on Sundays and on days of closing of the Vatican Museums (Christmas day and other religious holidays) it will not be possible to visit the museums and the Sisitine Chapel. On these occasions the itinerary will be modified to include Saint Angel Castle.
