Florence Shore Excursion from Livorno with Uffizi

In the morning a private driver will be waiting for you at the docks of Livorno’s (Leghorn) port. With a luxury air conditioned sedan or minivan in about one and half hour you will reach the center of Florence and meet your guide to begin your private tour.

The itinerary will begin at the Accademia Gallery to see the David by Michelangelo, probably the most famous sculpture in the world. At entrance we will skip the line thanks to the advanced reservation. A walk through narrow ancient streets will lead us to Florence's cathedral, the basilica of Saint Mary of the Flower, also known as the Duomo. Just outside you will see the San Giovanni Baptistry and learn about the history of this octagonal building, one of the oldest of Florence. Right in front of it stands the campanile (bell tower) by Giotto, a slender structure that is a great example of Florentine Gothic architecture.

Going along Via Calzaiouli we will pass by Orsanmichele, the ancient granary of the city and reach Piazza Signoria, one of the most important squares of Florence. The square is dominated by the Palazzo Vecchio (Old Palace) the town hall started in 1299 by Arnolfo di Cambio. The piazza is enriched by the Loggia dei Lanzi, with its many statues and by the fountain of the Neptune. The walk will continue through the courtyard of the Uffizi and heading towards the Arno river we will arrive to Ponte Vecchio, the Old Bridge.

There will be time for a short lunch break in a typical restaurant in the old city center. After lunch you will visit the Uffizi Gallery, one of the most important museums in the world. The entrance will be quick and easy as we will have prepurchased tickets and reservations to skip the long line at the entrance. Your private guide will show you the highlights of this vast collection with artworks by Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Botticelli and others. After the Uffizi your private driver will take you back to the port of Livorno on time to board the ship.
